Description Bastille via ferrata
The “Via Ferrata de la Bastille” is probably the most urban one. To get there, 15mn walking from the Grenoble train station, what else? A coffee before getting up the via?
It compose of 2 parts :

Part1 is the easiest, not so high, but will give you a bit of the vertigo feeling! Verticals, long traverse, beams, monkey bridge and a long Nepalese bridge. Cool!

Part 2 is wilder and requires stamina. Several more or less technical and physical variants. At the exit you'll be in the middle of one of the French prelude revolution scenery. Take care of the bayonets!!!
But Maybe you’d prefer enjoy a drink at the top of the Grenoble cable car above the end of the route. Anyway, it's a perfect opportunity to do something without the car from almost anywhere because you can come either by tram, bus, bike or train.

FAQ
Can we stop at the end of the first part and renounce the second?
Sure, there is a path getting down directly in the street at the bottom of the route and at the bar…
Is the second part really harder than the first ?
It's a little more difficult because the first part is already an effort. The start of this part 2 is quite steep and athletic, but for a short distance. What follows there is almost a walk in the sky.
Is the end get to the top of the Bastille cable car?
You’ll still have to walk 160 ft up to the station. A long hike… 5 mn maybe!!
Is it suitable for a discovery ?
99% of the people we take are beginners, and they all do well. However if you want an easier Via Ferrata, you can choose the via ferrata of Roc de Cornillon.

Must-do near Bastille via ferrata
Guess what, the lower part is noted just below the upper part!! Also a classic with more vertical than the superior and you will encounter a tributary gettinfg from a famous cave "les Cuves de Sassenage" when passing in front of the exite of it.
The classic with an outstanding view on Grenoble city. A route with rappel down, climbing, zip line in an incredible landscape near St Nizier du Moucherotte.
THE Canyon, the Vercors classic among the classics!! 45 mn driving from Lyon, on the road to Lans en Vercors. A complete course with jumps, water slides, zipline, abseiling and many fun trics to do and re-do.
Near Grenoble, just above Claix, this canyon is mostly known for its impressive 260 ft high waterfall. You won’t forget it!!
“Sensations” tandem paragliding flight Try the updrafts during a 20-minute flight with turns. Take off from St Hilaire du Touvet, landing in Lumbin
At the bottom of Presles crags, above Choranche caves, this route is aerial, with a 130 ft rappel down for all levels.
